Se trata de un posible macho observado en Seaham, Durham, los días 5 y 6 de abril de 2005. El área de nidificación de Motacilla alba leucopsis va desde la región de Amur en el SE de Siberia hacia el sur y ocupa el NE de China, la península de Corea y el sur del Japón. Al sur, cría en Taiwán, S de China hacia las costas de Hong Kong. Las poblaciones más norteñas son migradoras y sus áreas de invernada se sitúan al sur del río Yangtze y el sur de Japón y Taiwán. Con ésta, se conocen doce citas de este taxón fuera de su área habitual de distribución con nueve observaciones en Australia, una en Omán en febrero de 2005 y una en Noruega en noviembre de 2008. El artículo aporta información sobre la aparición en Europa de otras subespecies de lavandera blanca no habituales. Hasta ahora se han citado tres subespecies: las dos citas de leucopsis mencionadas en esta reseña en Reino Unido (2005) y Noruega (2008); cuatro citas de personata en Chipre (1966), Noruega (2003-2004 y 2007) y Suecia (2006); y cuatro de subpersonata en Portugal (1995), Córcega (1997), Gibraltar (2006) y España (2009).
Article about the first record of Motacilla alba leucopsis for the UK, and also for the Western Palearctic. One individual, probably a male, was seen in Seaham, Durham on 5 and 6 April 2005. The nesting area of Motacilla alba leucopsis ranges from the Amur region in SE Siberia to the south where it occupies northeastern China, the Korean peninsula and southern Japan. Breeds south to Taiwan and S China to the coast of Hong Kong. The northern populations are migratory and winter south of the Yangtze River and in southern Japan and Taiwan.There are up to twelve “extralimital occurrences” of this subspecies with nine records in Australia, one in Oman in February 2005 and one in Norway in November 2008.This article provides information on the presence in Europe of other rare subspecies of White Wagtail. So far three subspecies have been recorded: the two leucopsis quoted in this review in UK (2005) and Norway (2008), four records of the race personata in Cyprus (1966), Norway (2003-2004 and 2007) and Sweden (2006), and four records of subpersonata in Portugal (1995), Corsica (1997), Gibraltar (2006) and Spain (2009).

Se describe el primer caso de nidificación en mayo de 2008 de la subespecie italiana de lavandera boyera (Motacilla flava cinereocapilla) en Mallorca. Esta cita coincide con un aumento de registros hacia el oeste de Europa especialmente en el NE de España y sur de Francia. Profusamente ilustrado con ejemplares reproductores de cinereocapilla, iberiae e individuos intermedios entre ambas subespecies.
This paper describes the first confirmed nesting record of the Italian subspecies of Yellow Wagtail, Motacilla flava cinereocapilla, in Mallorca in May 2008. This record coincides with an increase both in sightings and breeding attempts in western Europe, especially in northeastern Spain and southwestern France. This paper shows many pictures of breeding individuals of cinereocapilla, iberiae and intermediate birds of both subspecies.
